avoid the plastic pink flamingos that plague its Atlantic Coast
counterparts. The city's survival doesn't hinge on tourism;
Tampa is one of the nation's fastest growing cities and largest
ports, with booming financial, industrial, and artistic
communities. Despite Ybor City, Tampa's large Cuban
neighborhood, this somewhat practical bent strips the city of
the spunk endemic to Miami, it also makes Tampa a less tacky,
more peaceful vacation spot.
